William (Bill) James Byard, Born 100 St. Catherine Street, Gloucester, 14th September 1885, Baptised St. Catherine’s Church 1st November 1885, had illegitimate son, Edward Buller (Jack) Byard by his step-sister Edith Ethel Webber. During the First World War he was a in the Corporal Royal Gloucester Hussars and Yeomanry, Regimental No. 1431. Was awarded the Territorial Efficiency Medal 1st April 1914. He married Martha Elsie Browning, who died in Gloucester 1939 Publican of the ‘Victoria Inn’ in Oxford Street, Gloucester, however there were no children from the marriage. He died 10th February 1938, his obituary appearing in the Gloucester Journal dated 19th February, 1938. |
