George Henry Thatcher, son of Thomas Thatcher and Eliza Chamberlain of Glasgow, born Lanark, Glasgow on 17th December 1856, married Martha Gough at St. Mary's Church, Kidderminster 29th September 1877.

Martha Gough, daughter of James Gough of York Street, Kidderminster, born Cookley, Worcestershire circa 1859. She had nine children, Beatrice c.1878, Harold c. 1879/80, George Henry c. 1880/81, Thomas Walter c. 1882, Eva May c. 1888, Lilly Chamberlain born 21st October 1890, Ethel born 18th June 1895, Elsie c. 1898, Will born 10th June 1900.
Will Thatcher as Leading Seaman and Chief Petty Officer

Will Thatcher, born 11 Upper Grove Street, Smethwick, Warwickshire on 10th June 1900. Enlisted in the Royal Navy, at Birmingham, 18th December 1918.

He married and had an adopted daughter. He was favourite uncle of Philip Ernest Edwards, father of Anne who married Michael Ian Byard.

Will served aboard "HMS Dunedin", which was attached to the Royal New Zealand Navy. He also served aboard "Valient", "Illustrious" and "Victory".
